I hadn't realised until reading just now that Bronte was nominated for student sportsperson in the Leeds Sports Awards that she is on a scholarship at Leeds Beckett Uni.

I was in Headingley Saturday. We go to Waitrose in Meanwood for reasons that are long and arduous to explain (as we live 16 miles away in Harrogate which has all supermarkets going).

anyway , Headingley was heaving - it was the Otley Road Run pub crawl, the Leeds Uni and Beckett students all out in force. 14 pubs on the route!

I was at Newcastle Poly, fun days. It was going to be called Central University of Newcastle upon Tyne, but that got voted down and Northumbria Uni it is. Thankfully.

I lived just around the corner from the Original Oak for two years. Mind you, the Packhorse was more convenient as it was opposite the Civ Eng department and it was possible to grab a pint between lectures !

Youve got me on those, I dont know Headingley that well! Weve found a good coffee shop/cafe there called Loaf that we use and there are two great pizza places (Rudys and Ecco) that we go to sometimes. But its not a regular haunt of ours! North Leeds generally from there across the other way through Meanwood, moortown, chapel Allerton, roundhay and across to Horsforth and places like Adel,

and the like , are a lovely set of suburbs though
