A propos of nothing, one of my 'favourite' (!) named youngsters is playing here:

Cookie Jarvis-Tredgett (CAN) - age 16

That's a very good win, Emily seems to be on a roll at present.

I have huge respect for Emily. She plays pretty much every week, and although she targets the higher level tournaments to maximise her doubles ranking, she ALWAYS plays qualifying too, usually picking up one or two wins and suggesting she hasn't given up completely on her singles career, unlike some of our other ladies. This win takes her back into the top 400 and close to her CH of 368. I really hope she can push on towards the top 300.

 This

She's also still quite young - only 24

There's a bit of up and down with her, but she's got a good technique, and she's athletic, and - as you say - she applies herself, gives herself a chance

Maybe not this year () but she's got the potential to make top-240 say, Grand Slam qualis, that should be her aim, and would be a BIG deal in terms of money.

Agree, tidy player, it would be lovely to see Emily give singles a proper go again smile

Emily is the kind of player the LTA should be willing to give a little coaching to; I feel like she'd repay the investment.
