Sophie for me. To return to the sport after 8 years and get to the semi-finals of the British Tour Premier event, only narrowly losing to a top 600 WTA player and then backing that up the following week by narrowly losing to the WTA 336 in a epic 3 setter with only 1 British Tour and a couple of National League matches since her return and while still competing at the top of her main sport for me trumps every other achievement this month.

Definitely a very worthy vote and if Id followed her story more closely, she might have contemded

for my vote also!

This was a tough one! Had to go through it a couple of times, series of elimination!

And who did you plump for, Var?!

Emma! It was tough. Love Mika, Mimi And Hannah, and think Henry has real potential. Yet it was her matches at BJK and getting to the quarters in Stuttgart. I know Madrid was a bit of a downer, but it did show what she had put into this matches in France. So WTA and country did it for me.

I've voted for Emma. Two wins from a set down against France away from home on clay in arguably Britain's best ever Billie Jean King Cup win. There aren't many moments like that.

To vote for the team seems a bit of a cop out. Sure Katie had a good win, but that was only because Emma levelled the tie on day one. And the other team members didn't play.

Her performance in Stuttgart showed it wasn't a flash in the pan.

I agree with all of this, but I am still voting for the team.

Voted for BJK Cup team. Emma did a fantastic job but Katie was magnificent in the way she turned her performance around so feel she deserves to be included. I was expecting a 5-0 beating so hugely impressed.

17 votes in so far and 6 nominees have votes so far. Interesting seeing how its going.

Our record votes level is 53 or 54, Id have to check - with no Easter getting in the way, and with two days of voting, it would be cool if we can get up to those levels. Certainly to beat the 41 from last month.

Having lectured on voting for who you really think should win, I do know who my PoM is, so I should no longer sit here watching the voting progress.

My vote is for Emma for much of the reasoning given by Var and 9vicman. Some really great stuff from her this month!

24 votes now and 8 players have received votes. A clear ish top 4 seems to have been established. A lot can still change however!

27 votes now in, 12 hours of the vote gone.

It closes 9pm Tuesday 30th April.

Enjoy!

And remember to say when you vote and who you vote for and why - it helps keep the interest going and could influence other people who arent sure!

I tend to vote for the unexpected performances so it was BJK team or SDL. Went for the BJK team on the grounds that they aren't competing again for a while but should SDL carry on playing and performing then she will be up for nomination in another month.

Voted for Henry with this one. Winning a first 250, picking up a challenger win and making his third 250 Final all within a month is very very impressive!

I usually vote for the player that has caught my attention during the month or who has exceeded my expectations. There is quite a choice this month and Mimi, Mika and Emily A have all been in that category, whilst Emma's comeback and success in the BJK Cup has also been outstanding. A difficult choice, but Mimi and Mika will go on and no doubt feature in the voting in future months. Emma's lacklustre performance in Madrid rather spoilt it for me.

So I am going to stick with my nomination and vote for Emily Appleton. She has won two of the three W75 doubles events she has played in this month and reached the semi-final in the other - all on clay (whereas I usually think of her as a hard-court player) and has a 9-1 record for the month winning 199 ranking points.
