Weeks 17 & 18 - ATP Masters 1000 - Mutua Madrid Open - Madrid, Spain (clay)

Hubi played well, really came out firing on all 4 from the off.

Him and Jack don't seem that friendly when they shake hands, noticed that last time.

Some talk on X that Nadal and Alcaraz may pair for the Olympics and, in preparation play an event or two before that - Madrid being one opportunity next week, with an onsite singles based entry or wildcard. Lets see!

L64:  (29) Cameron Norrie WR 30 defeated (WC) Joćo Fonseca (BRA) WR 242 by 1 & 4  biggrin

Several break points saved & a couple of match points squandered when Cam was serving for it!

Serious question, Indy:  what exacty do you mean by dog?  I genuinely don't understand what you were saying.

Not enough Brits in the doubles this time, sadly, to justify a separate thread:

L32:  (PR) Alexander Bublik & Denis Shapovalov (KAZ/CAN) CR 619 (280+339) vs (11) Jamie Murray & Michael Venus (NZL) CR 51 (25+26)

L32:  (WC) Nicolas Mahut & Albano Olivetti (FRA/FRA) CR 98 (52+46) vs (3) Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski CR 16 (6+10)

L32:  Alex de Mińaur & Alexei Popyrin (AUS/AUS) CR 555 (176+379) vs (14) Lloyd Glasspool & Jean-Julien Rojer (NED) CR 55 (35+20)

it seems to just be this one event, as Joe is back with Rajeev next week in Rome; but Neal has split with Gonzalez and seems to be bouncing around a few partners this month or so (Dodig, Joe, Krajicek).

Think they are playing Madrid with an eye on Olympics, whether they will play any other events remains to be seen
