Right calf injury, according to the Beeb.

JD played an absolutely fabulous return game at 6-5 in the third and he takes the match.  It really was not a regular clay court match, both guys going either big or really big.

Oh, that's a really good win by Jack! I had to stop watching at the start of the third set and thought Kokkinakis was getting on top, so great to see Jack got the win in the end. And yes, there was some spectacular hitting at times.

Does anyone know when the doubles field is due to be finalised, when the draw is and when the doubles event starts?

Madrid feels very disjointed this year - the 10-11 day Masters series events as a whole leave me very dissatisfied.

L64:  (29) Cameron Norrie WR 30 vs (WC) Joćo Fonseca (BRA) WR 242 (= CH)

I doubt that the Brazilian tyro will be quaking in his boots at the prospect of facing Camin the last 64...

The doubles starts next Tuesday and runs until Saturday.

And I've just read that the doubles players will be drawn against the non doubles players in the first round. Lord knows how that will work!

They've managed to make a 1000 feel like an exhibition with all of this!

Editing it back just to add a few thoughts with regards to all of this (Not that they're particularly interesting). I think one of the core issues with Doubles is that there's no broadcasting of it at 250's and most 500's, rarely any social media efforts made towards doubles players or tournaments and then of course an exhibition feeling when a bunch of singles players play and then withdraw when they're actually doing okay in the respective singles tournament.

Of course, it's definitely a chicken and egg situation with doubles views and TV rights but no casual player is ever going to make an effort to watch doubles if the only platform to do so is a betting site. I only play recreationally, albeit to an okay level and almost everything is doubles focused, including talk about the professional scene but no one can watch the matches! Wimbledon for example, personally the best part for me at least is walking around with a ground pass watching all the doubles, which have great viewings (It's a grand slam so not sure that counts). It's been made significantly more difficult for rising doubles pairs to get into the big events with this "experiment" which will decrease the quality of future doubles players.

I feel like the ATP trying to change things all of a sudden is ironic because to me at least it feels like they haven't tried at all recently to make it successful viewings. Now it has to be drastically changed because they've left it so long. (Some of the changes aren't bad but still).

Can they stop drawing Jack against Hurkacz .

After a bad first set Jack improved but once again got beaten .

I hope he gets some kinder draws and can get seeded for Wimbledon .
