Yes I thought it was a lovely match of controlled aggression from Emma lots of winners few UEs. Similar to the 2nd/3rd sets from the BJK Cup vs France helped by lots of DFs and UEs by Kerber (but as mentioned earlier a lot of these in fact forced by aggressive returning and shot making by Emma - reminded me of Emma during her US Open run?).
Emma up to 252 in live rankings (GB #7) and 220 if she can repeat her French Open 2022 win over Noskova.
I see shes 5th alternate for the FO but Jodie is v likely to withdraw? Also Andreescu must be a risk given she last played in August 2023?

If she could beat Noskova, no mean feat! I dont think they could overlook her as WC as the in form player. Wonder if she will get a WC for Madrid or Italy pre FO?

As an IMG event, I'm sure she has a WC for Madrid but after her withdrawal from Miami there's an agreement not to announce it until they have to. Rome I think will depend on how she does this week and in Madrid. Roland-Garros, no chance of a WC. They don't give WCs to foreign players except for the 2 reciprocal WCs with usa and Australia.

Thanks Lambda. When is the cut off for the FO or has it passed, this always gets me confused!
Thanks Lambda - I see Lily, Heather and Marni in the alternates list, would that mean we are only likely to have them and possibly Emma in the qualies?
