Its pretty hot there. Maybe part of it. But not a single ace served. Maybe he has shoulder strain or something.

Aw, he nearly turned that round. 7- 6 in the 2nd.  Got "verbal obscenity warning Mr Searle"
at one point biggrin

Shame for Henry, but he's definitely on a big learning curve right now, so I think uneven results are to be expected for a while.

Agree. Better to be slower and steady. Big step up this week, will take time to get used to this level. I remember watching Mimi playing in Tunisia last year and progress was pretty patchy. Granted lower level but this year she got into final end of the competition and lifted doubles title.  Maybe take another 6 months? Plenty of time.

Pity and does seem as if Henry's serve for starters wasn't really on song today.. I didn't see the match but as Jon mentioned earlier 18 yo Schwartzler is the JWR 1 so no doubt very capable and with a senior ranking of minimal relevance as to his general ability and potential.

Both players still very much in a transitional phase. And while R1 was great I am guessing Wolf has had rather better days ( just like with our players, their opponents will often play quite a bit above and below their actual ranking ).

I asked Challenger extraordinaire Mike Cation what he thought about Henry and he said very complimentary things about his intensity, attacking prowess, forehand and serve but said there was a big lack of point construction. So lots to work on.
