Week 16 - ATP 250 - BMW Open - Munich, Germany (clay)

QR1:  (q3) Jan Choinski WR 185 (CH = 126 last June) vs (qWC) Henri Haupt (GER) UNR

Haupt's is a new name on me, but he's apparently only 17.  Jack Draper should be in the main draw & seeded.

The German tennis events, with Munich and Stuttgart womens this week, Stuttgart on grass, Hamburg, Halle, Berlin for the women on grass etc seem to be picking up.

The more I think about the idea of a grass 1000 event for men, the more I think it would make sense to have it in Germany as opposed to Queens, and presumably at Stuttgart or Halle (although Stuttgart may in fact be a bigger overall venue? Not sure how Berlin stacks up as a venue and whether a joint M/W 1000 event would work at Berlin best of all the German grass options?). Queens is too small, we also have Wimbledon and dont really need it and the German fans would embrace a 1000 event well, I think.

Impressive first set from Jack (6-1). Really need to make the most of draws like this.
