The perfect result as Mel got in as a lucky loser so they both went through!

well done Rebecca for beating the fifth seed. Shame that Amanda Keen couldn't continue her good run after qualifying.

Bad luck for Amanda losing in such a tight third set breaker.

Greta Arn, who was the second seed, is out (she withdrew) so Katie is the highest seed left in her half of the draw.

According to WTA World:

Katie lost 6-0 6-2

Mel lost 6-1 7-5

If Katie`s result is true, that`s more than than a bit surprising.
