It's been a while since I did one of these but ......
1. Amelia Rajecki - for achieving 100 [college] career singles wins. Only the 4th player in NC State history to do so.
2. Hollie Smart (born 2009) - U16 British National Girls Champion (despite being year one)
3. Mark Ceban (born 2009) - U16 British National Boys Champion (despite being year one)
4. Henry Patten - for winning his first ATP250 title (with Harri Heliövaara) in only his second ATP250 final. Followed up with the Madrid Challenger 100 title, moving to 8-0 for the month.
5. Johannus Monday - for achieving 100 (college) career singles wins. Holds an impressive .806 winning percentage at Tennessee & a 42-6 career mark at no.1 spot in the line-up
6. Mimi Xu (2007) - U18 British National Girls Champion (for the second time, and still only year one) along with U18 national Doubles title with Mika.
7. Oliver Bonding (2007) - U18 British National Boys Champion (also year one)
8. Emma Raducanu - for winning both her matches after such a long time out injured and helping GB through to the Billie Jean King cup final, beating 2 top 50 players Garcia and Parry on clay in France against a hostile French crowd, fighting through 3 sets against both. The way she played the clinching final set tie break was very impressive.Had she lost that a deciding doubles against Garcia / Mldanovic would have been tough to say the least. She then followed that by beating Kerber and Noskova to reach the Stuttgart quarter finals keeping the world no 1 out there for more than 2 hours before going down 7-6, 6-3 . A great week for Emma who played more like a top 10 player than player ranked 300 .
9. Rhys Lawlor - both U16 and U18 British National Boys Doubles Champion.
10. Oliver Crawford - for winning the doubles title (with Tristan Boyer) at the ATP Challenger 75 in Sarasota. This is his first title since switching to playing for GB and his best title to date, having only won titles at M15/M25 level previously.
11. BJK Cup team for their brilliant win against France, now finalists on merit. Bringing it home girls! Outstanding performances from Emma and Katie on the second day, so well supported by Harriet, Hev and Fran and all the support team. Shout out for Anne K as well - you got it right!
12. Henry Searle - For taking out the Top Seed JJ Wolf (ranked 102) on clay in the 1st round of the Tallahassee Challenger with what I presume is a Career High ranking scalp.

Without wanting to extend Emmas write up too much her case can only be enhanced by her performance in Stuttgart, with comfortable wins over Kerber and Noskova making it 4 consecutive wins on clay over top players and taking her to the quarter final where she kept the world number 1 on court for over two hours before succumbing 6-7 3-6 . She is playing like a top 10 player , certainly not a player who started out a week ago ranked 300.
Danny, I was thinking myself that Emma's write up needed some info added about Stuttgart. She's had an impressive couple of weeks! So please go for doing an update!
(You could always compress what's already there or restructure it a bit to talk about her impressive run across the two events, if you feel it's a bit long, but don't worry too much about one write up being longer than the others. It happens sometimes because there really is that much to say about one particular player!)

Nominations close in about a week, next Sunday. With 14 nominations so far, it seems likely we will stick under 20 by the end of the period and so have one big vote - maybe some tough choices to make for some folks! So into the final week of 4; as the week progresses, everyone now knows the drill, so I wont repeat the details other than to say anyone can nominate any player for any reason at any time.
Nominations will close Sunday and the vote go up Sunday night. Whether it is one or two rounds will become clear over the week but my instinct is we will have a single vote this month.

So just a quick confirmation - Madrid event crosses the month end for April POM with most of it in May. And so, as per rules published earlier, Madrid results will count towards May PoM including qualies results or matches played in April. Its often the case events cross over the month end, but Madrid stands out a little plus other events this week, that clash with the first half of Madrid, are part of the April period.
I hope thats clear - as an example, Emma or Harriet or Katie B this week, their Madrid results shouldnt be added to their April write up or consideration. The basic principle is an event can only count to one month, not two, and Madrid is deemed a May event as the majority of it is in May and it finishes after the April month end cut off of April 28th
Obviously any results Harriet or Emma or Katie B do achieve this week can be included in a May nomination if any one believes they are noteworthy enough. The May nomination thread will go up in about a weeks time, ie after April is done and dusted.
Indian Wells and Miami have in the past fallen into this cut off discussion, Madrid does this year - the 10 day masters 1000 events in essence sometimes cross a month end period.
