Other events, 2024 - week 14

There's a big turnout in Ghana, with three names I haven't seen before, and real youngsters too

J30 Ghana

R1 wins for Maya Chang Harper (age 13)

and Lisa Bolton (age 13)

and Daphnee Lovdahl (age 14)

and Tara Lawal (age 13)

and Alisha Ndukwu (age 14), second seed, by a BYE

Josh Wright and Kyle Babbage are yet to play in the boys

Lisa has won 16U Tennis Europes and done consistently well in 14U TEs and British grade 1s and 2s
Tara played at Tarbes and has also had some good results in 14U TEs and GB events
Both of these are on the LTA radar

Daphne is another who has performed well at National events

Maya - I also know nothing about!

Thanks, Rose. Now you mention it, Lisa's name does ring a faint bell (from the TE U14 event at Liverpool recently?)

I'm sure I've never heard of Daphnee though (or Maya)

Or both boys in the draw:

Kyle Babbage (who won by retirement today), and

Josh Wright (who lost by retirement)

Both age 14

Unfortunately, both Joe and Harry lost in R3 in Malta, which is disappointing, given their seedings.
Still some doubles interest though

J30 Botswana

(q) Josh Aston won and is into the QFs

J60 Trinidad & Tobago

Qualifier, Sonny Dennison Dickson, age 14, lost in R2
As did Anya Taylor

J30 Ghana

Tara (age 13) and Alisha (age 14) both won their QFs and will now play against each other in the SF so we have a guaranteed finalist

(Tara beat the 7th seed, 0 & 0)

Alisha is also into the doubles final

J30 Malta

Boys doubles final: Harry Abel & Felix B Evans v Leo Silverston & GER

so, guaranteed silverware here

J30 Botswana

(q) Josh Aston won his QF match and is into the semis
