Week 14 - WTA250 - Bogata, Colombia Clay

I personally don't think Fran should play more than 2 weeks on the trot ever, in fact I'd rather see her play every other week and give her body recovery time.

Yes. Or at least, it's something her team has to seriously consider

And it applies to her style of play too

Better to lose a match trying to win it in two sets than half kill yourself winning in three

These are all factors that she - more than anyone - has to factor into her training, her match schedule and her play style

I was one to raise the possibility of Fran being added for the BJK Cup squad. But I do think a convincing case has been made that, in her circumstances, she should not be.

Olivia Nicholls would be my pick for a 5th player.

Fran will lose 110 points from last year next week, so her heavy schedule may have been an effort to make the cut for RG qualies - a good shout from the ranking given here of 214.

But with the 110 deduction, her first round win here only takes her back up to 277 in live rankings.

When is the RG qualies cut off date?

I'm not certain, but i vaguely remember reading on here that it is 8 April, so Fran would have needed to beat Siegmund and at least one other to make the cut.

If its 4 weeks before then I think 22/4.

29 April, but as that is the middle of Madrid with no ranking update it is 22 April rankings that will determine the entry list.

Thanks all - is she playing anywhere the next two weeks to make a dent in the ground she needs to cover to get into qualies? Feels like an ask given her injury history...

Shes down for the W35 in Tunisia on April 22nd. Cant see anything else so far.

Which would be too late obviously for Paris.
