Week 14 - ATP Challenger 75 - Barcelona, Spain (clay)

If Kyle starts to put some wins together at challenger level he might be an outside shot at a MD WC. Would probably need to get into the top 300 to be considered though.

Depends on Ryan's fitness / return from injury too.

Would have thought Billy is a certainty to get a Wimbledon WC

Main draw? That would be great if he can - suspect a ranking with a 1 before it would help that cause. Looking outside the top 100, Brits would be Liam (if fit), Jan, Ryan, Billy and then maybe Arthur?

Is anyone else likely to be in line? Oliver Crawford is surely too new a Brit to get a main draw shout, maybe a QWC? All the other Brits are below 300 and they wont give one to someone below 300, I wouldnt think.

Given the usual grass Challenger wild card, are there any old performers in line for a mens wild card? The womens side seems to have every ex player that ever played lined up for them but the mens doesnt strike me as having anyone obvious this year, maybe Thiem if he lowly ranked?

So 5 British men wouldnt seem too difficult to achieve?

You may have to factor in foreign wildcards and ex champions into the equation

Well, he did     Beyond possibly Thiem, who looks possible at this stage?

Indeed, I did think of them! As Indy says, is there anyone else other than Thiem who comes into the ex "champions" category? Or "did well at Wimbledon in 2015 and they deserve a bit more dosh" category?

There is always Milos Raonic ex finalist or Mario Berrettini but his s ranking may improve .

It's interesting how early our thoughts turn to Wimbledon wild cards. Great for prize money, and a first round win would currently be worth around 30 ranking spots for Billy, but at the same time it is but two weeks.

Harris lost 5-7 6-7(2). Wasnt much in it, as the score line suggests, but the Spaniard was just a little more reliable in the crucial moments.
