Weeks 12 & 13 - ATP 1000 - Miami Open - Miami, FL, USA (hard)

This tournament has been so frustrating .

Murray misses out on a very winnable 4th round match and could easily have made the quarter finals . Draper missed out on a very winnable 3rd round match .

It was so close to being a great tournament for the Brits .

It certainly was an opening to maybe go on to reach a QF. And Andy hasn't reached a Masters QF since 2016 when he won Paris ( last Slam QF was that painful, in many ways, QF defeat to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon in 2017 ).

Just he kinda is where he is now and I just wish him to have a fulfilling probable last few months of his career. While some big shock run would be great, expectation-wise I am now much more invested in Jack who now has the higher level IMO.

And Cam also lost , 5 and 1, to Medvedev, meaning the men are all out.

Shame for Andy, but I watched the first couple of sets and it was at least entertaining tennis and Andy looked so much more like his "old" self, which was lovely to see. Hope the ankle issue is minor. (And Machac was playing good tennis, too. Interested to see how high he rises, as he's had some hard fought matches with Brits this year.)

Boo on Cam. cry I haven't watched him for a while, but that's not a great score, even against someone like Medvedev. Hope he can push on again.

I agree re: Andy. He played some lovely tennis at times in both the last two matches and you could tell the crowd felt privileged to see him at that level. Couldn't quite find his first serve at vital moments which made it harder but definitely not outclassed.

 Exactly what I thought too

Very good level of tennis

Just needed that first serve on a couple of key occasions (and one only missed by a fraction) and the match would have been his

There was a tweet that said by the time Medical and Cam meet for the 19th time he will mathematically able to win, by the 20th meeting, he will definitely win (the 3 times they've met so far, Cam has won 1 more game each time)

News just coming in that Andy Murray suffered a significant injury to his ankle last night .

Its amazing he was even able to continue . He looks set to be out for an extended period of time .

What terrible luck.

That's gutting news, as he was playing better. I was hoping that he'd go out in at least a partial bang, not a whimper.

I just hope that he's fit enough to play in the last GSs, and maybe dubs in the Olympics.

Nicolás Jarry has made the quarter finals, putting out 7th seed Casper Ruud.

Jack Draper's two match points in round three look pretty impressive in retrospect.
