I was lucky enough to be front row on Grandstand to watch this. What an emotional roller coaster! Sonego did come out all guns blazing and Dan got very frustrated and down on himself very quickly but by the start of the second set hed started to get a read on the Sonego serve and all of a sudden Dan was right in it, super animated, crowd were loving it and it was a really entertaining match. Sonegos level dipped a little bit but Dan starting to read the serve contributed hugely. Im not sure if it came across on TV but it was quite gusty at times and Dan handled that better compared to Sonego especially on the slice. I was chatting to Laura Robson before Katies match and she was desperately hoping for an Evo win, as was I, being the first time Id seen Evo play singles live. Living every point with him was draining though! Was hoarse and aching from clapping by the end

One Dan supporting another ! Thanks for the insight Dan - are you able to watch the Brits today? all the other guys are in action and some of the doubles players

Thanks for the report, Tennisfandan. Always much appreciated to hear from people who were courtside.

I had tickets for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so Brit wise was also able to see Jack (who looked on fire), Murray vs Berretini and also the first set of Murray vs Cash in doubles yesterday. Am in miami until Thursday so may go back if someone is on Stadium court in the evening on Tuesday or Wednesday. I dont think therell be much play today, Im in South Beach and it is bucketing down! On another note if anyone gets the opportunity to attend the Miami Open Id highly recommend, tickets really reasonable and easy to come by and the Tennis Campus is really well organised.

Sounds great - we went to see the Miami baseball team play the Dodgers last September, $6 each per ticket!

Yes, Andy would play Machac if he wins against Etcheverry.

Play suspended at 3 all.

They are having some frightfully un-Miami like weather over there, including 'isolated tornados'.

I'm surprised that Jack Draper is up on court first; really expected them to give Andy's suspended match priority.

I thought there was a general rule that suspended matches never go on first ?

Ok, the Brits are rolling, Andy dominated that tie break, and Jack back level .

Jack 1 set all. His trousers are a revolting colour   same as the tennis balls for anyone who can't watch the match.

Could only watch the Andy Murray scores tick over on the results board but it must bode well for the second set that he took it 7-0.

Meanwhile Jack looked like he was about to throw up after winning the second set, immediately left the court after it finished . Commentary worried that he has a history of not coping well in this kind of heat.

PS Jon H I did not know that about suspended matches.
