Mimi wins 2 and 4. Seemed more competitive in the second set,. However dont think Mimi has dropped a set on her way to the semi finals. Well done Mimi!

Yes, three straight set wins for the loss of just 13 games - five of which were breaks of serve.
Rush!ti or Laskevich next - they are playing at the moment.
SF:- Mingge Xu (GBR) WR721 LOST TO Evialina Laskevich (***) WR692 [8] 2-6 4-6
Shame but still another good week for Mimi. Looks like another WTA career high around 670s. Puts her 18 in the overall rankings for 18s and under and 7th on 16s and under. Gently does it!

Good progress.
Though Mr Pernickety says that Mimi actually goes to live #18 in the under 18s ( ie. 17 and under rather than 18 and under )
FWIW, the u16s have #2 Hannah. The u17s have #6 Hannah, #7 Mimi. And the u18s have #17 Hannah, #18 Mimi, #20 Isabelle.
Good to get in there and mix it well with seniors though their overall development remains much more important than actual rankings.

Agree, but gives hope that we have some good seniors progressing. However if we look at Katies trajectory, that road wont be a nice even progression. Some research from the US said that young tennis layers now rate injury as their main concern when joining the tour. Says it all really.

Injury has been the prime factor that has hampered many of our promising girls/women: Katie Swan, Katy Dunne, Katie Boulter, Fran Jones, Jodie Burrage, Emma R have all had their careers significantly impeded by a succession of injuries and going further back Laura Robson. I don't know enough about other countries' players to know if they have also had similar problems or if there is an issue with trainng/rehab but it's a real shame for them.
