A further update. My father (step-father) slipped away a couple of hours after my last post. I had a phonecall from the hospital and got there just in time. The last two weeks have been pretty hectic, especially as we had a three night away booked already. I think everything is under control now but am still busy going through paperwork.

Very sorry to hear your news, the addict

But it does sound as though your father had a long and good life, and to have family around you at that last moment sounds perfect

All the best for the next few weeks which I can imagine will be a bit hectic

Well, I forgot to ask, but belatedly. I am flying to Jamaica on business on Saturday and will be away for 10 days - it is a hard gig, but my expertise is apparently valued and no one else can do it apart from my colleague, also called Jon. I suspect our real expertise is having first names that are easy to spell and are the same.

I am told it is vital I go, a week in Kingston followed by 3 days In Mo Bay, with two different clients.

My wife reminds me that missing two weekends, incl one being a bank holiday, is not part of the accepted deal and I have some penance to pay on my return.

I hope permission is granted, oh members of the board!

 biggrin

its actually going to be hard yards in the office so not sure we will see much sun, although we have this Sunday to acclimatise and get over jet lag, so should be some time then to get out of the hotel/office syndrome. and as my wife said, watching some films on the plane over is hardly a tough task is it!?

Haha. Well, we all deserve an exotic work trip now and then. I actually went to Jamaica last year in Feb on business with the Montego Bay client, strange how weve managed to get two clients in the same small country.

Fly on Saturday morning so early start but looking forward to the flight !

It was very considerate of your company to arrange this trip in between POMs.  smile

You poor unfortunate. It's hard work, but console yourself with the fact that someone has to do it.
