Week 10 - ITF W35 Solarino, Italy - Outdoor carpet

Looks like a decent 1st round draw for Emilie.

Nice to see her back.

L16:- Sofia Shapatava (GEO) / Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) CR720 (402+318) def Mariia Kostiuk (UKR) / Katrina Scott (USA) CR2083 (1331+752) 6-3 6-2
They will probably play the top seeds in the QF - but that won't be confirmed until tomorrow.

Emilie Lindh and Barbora Palicova have withdrawn from the doubles - replaced by Sofia's protege Anna Bochoradze with Yifei Ren of China. Palicova won her singles today.

Hopefully nothing problematic for Emilie after such a long lay off.

Emilie looks to have withdrawn from singles too and has been replaced by a LL (Sofia).

Such a pity that Emilie withdrew. Sofia has just beaten the WC 6-0 7-6 so it should have been an easy first match for Emilie.

Sofia just lost a 3h23min singles (273 points in total) so I'll be pleasantly surprised if she manages to get through the doubles with Em this afternoon.

Fought hard from 2-5* down in the second but couldn't complete the comeback. Did have two set points at 6-5 40-30* and another at 7-6* in the tiebreak though

This was Emilie's last event as a British player as she has changed nationality to Norway. She becomes their 2nd highest ranked woman, so my guess this is a bid to play the BJK Cup.

Oh, didn't see that coming. Well, good luck to her.

Good luck to Emilie - I'll miss seeing her in the draws as a Brit.

Think she'll be the top ranked Norwegian though...just ahead of Helgo and Eikeri? But clearly in the mix for BJK in future.

Helgo has points pending for winning Helsinki from qualifying the week before IW and will move above Emilie on Monday.

Emilie has become a Quisling!

I guess this means no more updates? no

Hate to be po-faced, but that's not really a good way of putting it, given what that term might mean to Emilie and her Norwegian family.
