Megan has been high on the LTA radar since the age of 9/10 and was playing Tennis Europes in GB early on. She went under the general radar for a while as she has always played up So didnt get immediate results. She is still at Culford but has an individualised tennis programme very similar to Hannah Klugman at that age. She is being invested in heavily and there are a lot of expectations from her.
She doesnt play many tournaments and not many GB events so her GB ranking is deceptively lower than her level. She has also only been able to gain points from 14U TE events recently which has affected her European ranking. Like you, I rate her a lot and think she is the top 14U player in GB at the moment.
Yes, the LTA guys I know have been talking about her very much in the same breath as Hannah - although I don't think Megan quite has the same all-round courtcraft that Hannah had at that age
Following the 2010-born girls in the J300 Indian Wells this week, it'll be interesting to see if Megan has moved to that level by this time next year
I always focus on certain aspects of tennis for the young players, and Megan definitely has always ticked a lot of boxes
If youre interested in looking at the younger players - then keep an eye on Gracie Watson
2011 born. Not in Megans (or Livs) league yet but there is a LOT to like in her game. Very emotional on court at the moment which is stopping her progressing as much as she could have done but that will come with maturity. The LTA are keeping a close eye on her to see how she develops in the next year or two
(Sorry to de rail Megans thread but wasnt sure where else to post this)

Thanks, Rose - that's a completely new name to me (and Megan can share a little space with Grace for a moment )
Very good week for her! Just interested to know, where is her level at compared to other 2011s internationally? I certain like Megan's playing style when I saw her at Wimbledon -very good movement and hits with pace, clean backhand etc

Yeri Hong is the top 2011 player by far - she has just made the Final of the J100 in Korea, and is currently in the semi-final of this week's J100
After her, though, they are all pretty much of a muchness, in terms of results and ranking
In the Tennis Europe rankings, Megan is 3rd after Bielinska (see last week's other events), and Matvejeva
But it's really splitting hairs
In terms of actual style of play, I haven't really seen enough of the others (and some not at all) to have a valid opinion yet.
