I saw that Liv has got a LL spot here but actually retired in her FQR match - I do hope she's OK to play .... it seems a little odd

And to note that both Daisy Wootton and Tara Lawal were SO close to qualifying - both lost 8-10 in their MTBs ::((

Sevil Parviz and Swen Gwilym-Davies lost more easily

Harry Emmett, Aran Selvaraasan, Jayden Oladimeji and Neo Armus also lost in qualis

I didn't realise until recently that Megan Knight is the daughter of former England cricketer, Nick Knight.

I would accuse you of failing to read all my rambling posts - but you might have a point biggrin

Whatever ailed Liv yesterday seems to have been temporary, as she breezed to victory today. Tomorrow 3 Brits play singles on streamed courts. Niall is on court 2 at 9.30am GMT followed by Eric, while Daniella is second on court 1

(10) Scott Watson d. (WC) Oliver Roth (SWE) 6-2 6-1
(4) Niall Pickerd-Barua v Miko Koeppen (GER)
(Q) Isaac Sallu v (8) Plameri Kolev (BUL)
(Q) Jinhong Yang d. (Q) Ruben Stanmore 6-4 7-5
Dimitar Topchiyski (BUL) v (9) Eric Lorimer

Girls R1 (L64)

(WC) Megan Knight d. (Q) Maruja Djukic (SRB) 6-3 6-0

Niall got beaten pretty easily, 3-6 2-6, which is not great for the 4th seed (I've never been very impressed by Niall's tennis)

Eric Lorimer won with a pretty easy score (3 & 2) but it was a decent match and the score was probably slight unfair on his opponent

Daniella won 2 & 1 in a very one-sided match and the Swedish girl was lucky to even get three games, to be honest

And a very hard-fought win for (q) Isaac Sallu, too 7-6(5)4-66-4

Boys R2

(10) Scott Watson v Patrick Breen (IRL)
Sebastian Tejerina (POL) v (Q) Isaac Sallu
Callum Mackinnon (CAN)) v (9) Eric Lorimer

Daniel Baranes (ISR) v (LL) Liv Zingg

Good start for Megan against the fourteenth seed who Daniela Britton beat last week; takes the first set 6-1.

And the second 6-2. Nice win for Megan.

Daniella Britton having a tougher time and is a set down.

In the boys draw Eric and Isaac both went out but Scott is through to the third round.

In the girls draw Daniella and Liv both lost so Megan is the only one left in the main draw.

That's a good score from Daniella against the little Latvian starlet
And I rate Baranes really highly so we'll done to Liv too on a decent score
But allez Megan !!!!

A super match from Megan - she beat the German 4th seed with no trouble at all - always on the front foot - always the aggressor, but constructing the points well, not going for broke too early

I know it can look like grapsing at straws but worth pointing out (IMO) that:

Daniella lost to the Latvian girl - who has now just beaten this year's winner of Les Petits As

Liv lost to the Israeli girl who won the U12 Super Bowl - and who has now just beaten the 2nd seed

Megan is the only Brit remaining, as Scott lost in 3. She appears to have a winnable quarter-final (second on court 1 tomorrow), but the strong top seed Jana Kovackova is a likely semi-final opponent

Boys R3

(7) Andrei Radu (ROU) d. (10) Scott Watson 7-6(6) 2-6 6-2

Girls R3

(WC) Megan Knight d. (4) Anna Pircher (AUT) 6-2 6-1

QF

(WC) Megan Knight v (11) Tea Kovacevic (BIH)

The small Romanian lad who beat Scott yesterday went onto win today

It was a shame for Scott yesterday - I saw the last set - the middle of the third set was very close and Scott had SO many chances

But unfortunately Scott has very little natural idea of where his opponent is or where the space is - you can see he's focused on the construction of his shot - which is often extremely nice - but without it being related to whats going on on the other side of the net

And so he lost the mid-set battle when he never should, in a million years. And then the Romanian coasted home
