Re the pronunciation of Matt's surname, I'd hazard a guess (& it's no more than that) that it rhymes with Boscombe in Bournemouth the phonetic spelling of which features a "k", an upside down "e" & an "m", so more like "erm" without the "r" lengthening the "e" sound (I can't reproduce it here because Activeboard won't support the characters). That's how I "hear" it in my head anyway.
