Always going to be hard again this week. Rest up and off to Mexico!
An interesting choice to play on clay in Brazil when there was an event in Mexico on hard court this week.
Well- he is defending champion! He beat Alcaraz in the final last year. So he was defending the title and 500 points. Los Cabos was his first title , of course, but with 500 points here and the title to defend, I guess he had a big desire to be here in Rio!
If you scroll up, you'll see I was talking about Cash and Galloway, who are going hard, clay, hard.

Fair dos! I hadnt read the stuff above and assumed you were talking about Cam! Yes re Julian and Galloway. Maybe they just chased the points.
Id not really paid any attention, but although Cam has slipped in the rankings and, if hes won, will be live 29th; in the race hes actually doing rather well and would be live 12th if hes won. So hes got scope to really build that ranking back again with a few points in the bank.
Good to see Cam seemingly building up some momentum again. That said, he was broken when he served for it at 5-1 in the third & had a couple of match points... Fonseca (Brazilian WC) or Navone (Argentine Q) in the semi.
Norrie takes the third, crowd much subdued with a strong Norrie performance towards the end. Not watched Norrie on the dirt much, very impressive the way he works the his opponent.

Cam, 3 Argentinians and a Brazilian left. Taking on the South Americans in their backyard!
