Billy wins as O'Connell retires after losing the fist set tie break. Watching the end of the ties break there was no obvious sign that O'Connell was struggling. He said to the umpire "I need to retire", giving no reason.
It will be interesting to know the reason for him and Ryan's retirement only minutes apart.

 Makes you think a bug or sickness might be the cause?  As you say, it was unusual two players, separate courts, retiring so close together

ryanhpen Hey everyone, I thought I'd give an update of my injury on here. I got the scan results yesterday and they weren't great, as I'd expected. I've snapped 2 ligaments and torn another in my left ankle. It's a tough moment for me, but things could definitely be a lot worse. I've got some really great people and a great team around me to help me through the rehab process. The next couple months aren't gonna be easy, but l'm gonna do everything I can to be back competing as soon as I can.
