Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool 2, GB - hard, indoor (Week 7)

A second J30 at Liverpool

Another excellent two full qualis draw - although quite a few different names from last week

Strange though that the tournament referee has drawn up two different sorts of draws (both the same size) - it's true that there are several persmissible draw versions but strange to choose a different one for girls and boys (maybe someone knows why?)

Girls Qualis

Gabby Read and Christine Fourrie are the top two seeds

Only two wildcards (a girl from Malta and a girl from Norway)

Boys Qualis

The top two seeds are a boy from Italy and Max Bland

Wildcards to Henry Senior, Joe Evans, Charlie Woods and Anton Kotak

Girls

The girls did a great job today

Nine foreign players in the QR1 draw - and only one of them got a win

Congrats, in particular, to Susanna Thomson who beat the 3rd seed

And Daniela Harvey who beat the 4th seed

And Elizabeth Rimmer, Susanna Thompson, Jessica Gunter and Sevil Parviz for getting their first ITF wins

Big congrats to Dan Joita, who beat the top seed

And Erik Ndreu who beat the 4th seed, Finn Logue who beat the 5th seed, and Pavana Nrshinga who beat the 6th seed

Saw Jessica Gunter today, she lost a close match to Sofia A,  She has a strong service game.

Elizabeth Rimmer was well beaten by Gabby Read and Susanna Thompson came through against Sevil Perviz

well done to the following for making it through qualis:

Henry Senior; Finn Logue; Alex Winder; Seb Griffiths

Main draw wildcards went to:

Brandon Ratanavong (age 14); Mathias Lescano-Vecchi; two Norwegian boys

As Ruben Stanmore won the TE Europe event, not sure why the girls' winner got a wildcard but the boys' winner didn't....

The top four seeds are:

Alfie King; Italian boy; Rhys Watters; Charlie Swaine

Young Daisy Wootton, on her wildcard, got a win over the 5th seed from Turkey, based in Bath

Even younger, 13 year-old Daniella Britton (Isabella's sister?) also got a win

Another wildcard, Lily Harper, beat an Australian girl

Qualifier, Sofia Aquilina, beat the 4th seed, Daisy Clifford

Nice wins over foreign opposition, too, for Macy Denney-Richards, Heidi Crncan and Molly Robinson

Daniella and Isabelle don't seem to be related. They were both there, but didn't acknowledge each other.Isabella withdraw with a wrist issue

Thanks, paulisi - I'd always sort of assumed they were sisters - my fault for being lazy and just assuming - did you have a good time there today?
