Thats a marvellous win for Emily - is that a career best, in terms of opponents ranking?

Good question. Yes, it is. Her previous best was WR167 in the Final of W25 Loughborough in Nov 22.

So, here is my real question - how did you get that info? My go to method would be ITF player activity and trawl back through her career for x years and try and find a better ranked opponent. But is there a speedy way of getting that info?

Seriously, not trying to impose on trade secrets but it would be something I genuinely would be keen to know!

A site you use to get other stats from. wink
Tennis abstract. On the player's classic view page, filter by time span: career, results: wins then sort vRk.

And with that fantastic new tool at my disposal, I can deduce that Emily has only ever beaten 3 top 200 players. Ferro today , Abduramova as per Lambda above and Scott in summer 2023

Emily's serving statistics are interesting, 14 aces and 9 DFs. It looks as if she has developed a very good , if somewhat erratic service. If she can work on getting it more consistent it could be a real weapon.

 Just my opinion:

Her serve is already a real weapon - she's got the best serve by far of the 'mid' tier girls, and a better serve than players like Harriet in the top tier

Her DFs is not so much because it is erratic but because she goes for a strong second serve

Rather Pete Sampras like

And she's right to do so - it's one of her best point-scoring shots - the extra DFs is a necessary cost

However, Lily took the last set easily, which (without having seen it) almost certainly reflects Lily's far stronger and more reliable play off the ground

Interesting re Emily's serve.

I looked at her stats for her 3 MD matches here so not a huge sample, but anyway...

In all 3 matches her second serve was overall more accurate than her first ( ie. higher % in ) but won a lower % of points once in.

So that would suggest she does at least take a bit off her second serve so not an all out first serve again.

In total over her 3 matches, taking points won against first and second serves taken, her second serve has actually won a higher % of points :

1st serve points won :  121/290 = 42% ( a % of first serves, as distinct to % of first serves in, so comparing like with like )

2nd serve points won : 56/118 = 47% ( that does look s pretty good % )

Though, actually her first serve did win in today's match vs Sonay because while her 2nd serve in % was similar to her other.2 matches ( around 75% ) it gathered a significantly lower % of points when landing.

So maybe Sonay was better than the others at dealing with a strong but not all out 2nd serve.

So maybe in some instances ( such as vs better returners ) actually a true all out second serve would be better?

Whatever, in this small sample I do see the case CD is making for at least a pretty strong second serve, when serve is a weapon you have, and be prepared to take a certain DF quota.  It doesn't look to be damagingly erratic.
