J60 South Africa

Sophie Bekker has made the semis

Although I think she made the semis here last year too, so the points will just replace those (unless she goes one step further, of course )

I always find these "other events" threads in the early part of the year interesting - all of the names bar one or two are new to me, I guess it is players suddenly coming into the J60/100 level events or getting to an age where they make more progress.

As the year progresses I get to recognise more of the names, right now it is "who they" territory!

Interestingly, Sophie has now withdrawn from the next J60 in Durban starting Monday (and it was a PFLWMD on the 25th). I'm guessing this isn't a money issue, as she's played in South Africa so often I'm under the assumption she has family down there. A sign of an ITF qualifying wildcard at Edgbaston?

Hoping it's not a sign of injury

Sophie is bi-lingual(as quite a few of our juniors are) as she was talking to her mother in another language at Liverpool. Possibly Afrikaans...
