One of the two leading under 14 events takes place this week, with Mark Ceban's 2023 victory a hard act to follow, especially with no seeded Brits. We have several boys in the field, but just two girls (thanks to Sevil Parviz qualifying and Megan Knight being handed a wildcard, as speculated in the Bolton thread).
Live streaming is available from 3 courts here. Tomorrow just Scott Watson makes one of the streamed courts (court 1 third match) but live scores from all matches are available here (Megan is fourth on court 4)
In the other British match today Jan Janda lost 7-6(2) 6-0. Orange Bowl U14 champion Daniel Baranes was no match for top seed Jana Kovackova, going down 0 & 1

I think Baranes was the U12 champion in the Junior Orange Bowl (not U14)
But I'd still thought that the score would be closer than that.....

Yes you are quite right - I misremembered
Tomorrow Neo is second on court 1, and Megan/Sevil's doubles sixth on the same court
Eric is fifth and Niall sixth on court 2 (also streamed)
But two of those losses were from LLs - and one of them was playing the top seed and managed to take it to three sets, so well done to Neo (even though every time I clicked on the screen for a few moments, not a single ball of his went over or in the court - so I stopped clicking on his screen )
No joy at all today, so just Scott and Megan survive the opening round

I'm not a big fan of Grace Bernstein's (despite all the press she gets), and she should have lost in her R1 match, so I'll be interested to see how Megan bears up
As an aside, the Czech top seed in the boys lost today
Which was no surprise at all - he looked pretty poor in his first round and looked dreadful today - I've no idea how he got to be top seed ....
Enjoyed watching the Swedish lad, on Centre Court, get defaulted for giving the umpire the finger ....
Crowd going mad (he was playing the French boy who put out the 'Bouncing Czec' top seed )
It's true the young umpire's linecall was truly horrific - slow motion showed the ball was about 20cm out
But you can't give him the finger
Referee was called, rackets were smashed, crowd was booing its head off - all good entertainment, in a sort of way, and the kid will learn a lesson (probably)
