Kumar beat the top seed, Federico Gaio (WR 198), by 3 & 2 in his first round match...

Kozlov had been near top 100; Kumar is near his career high currently. Jubby is better than him. Hes rising again and Ive said before this week, a challenger title will come soon.

 

hes live 565 now - could well be back in the top 500 soon, before Ali or Jake perhaps. 

Hopefully he will get a wildcard into Nottingham challenger coming up.

Never rated Kozlov. There were a whole batch of US players who all came through at the same time. He was the one who looked time he would push on.

 No, I never rated Kozlov either

And found his father pretty objectionable

Noah Rubin was another (whom I didn't rate, no idea about his father)

Agreed but dont know re their fathers! But still think it was a solid win for Paul who is gradually getting back to his proper level
