Ella is quite a good doubles player.
I hope she doesn't specialise too early like Ali Collins...

The 17 year-old Czech girl, who was RU at Junior Wimbly, won her SF in extremely quick fashion

Well, Ella won last week and was strong favourite this time round too

Two titles in two weeks with two different partners

At least it keeps the winning feeling going

Massive doubles rankings junp on the way for Ella - Coric predicts up 88 places to a new CH of 381

Feels wonderfully random. She's beaten five of Britain's leading doubles players - Appelton, Barnett, Christie, Collins, Grey - en route to these doubles titles so obviously playing well. But doesn't strike me as a doubles player.

Anyone watched her play and can comment?

I've seen quite a few of her doubles matches (weird, considering I don't normally watch much doubles)

She's very at ease in doubles. For some reason, she lacks attack in singles, tends to push the ball rather a lot. But that doesn't matter in doubles because you're not looking for winners from the back of the court. She serves well, is adroit at the net, reads the game well, and seems quite calm and happy to be part of a team.

Thanks CD. Have seen a little of her playing singles and didn't think a huge weight of shot. Had forgotten she reached a junior world ranking of No. 8, but think was more due to good tournament planning as she never passed the second round of a Slam. But really encouraging to see her adapting well to doubles. And of course she's still on 18.
