Gotta say it's a pretty tough draw for Jack. Giron won't have the weapons but will extend points. Then Paul (who I'm sure will do better than today), Kecmanovic who pushed him all the way this week, and Alcaraz. Shame, but I will have the popcorn out for that round 3 if it happens, whatever the time it is here on the East Coast!

And we've had plenty of that in the last couple of weeks or so!  wink

Rublev just won his opener in a MTB, 10-6, almost out on day 1 to Seyboth- Wild, the Brazilian with a reputation.

Love how tough some of these first round matches are, just watched Fritz being pushed all the way in 5 sets by a young Argentinian Diaz Acosta.

Djoko playing 18 year old Prizmic and down 5-6 in 2nd set tb. Imagine if Djoko went out first round smile

Emma and Jack both have tough draws IMO hmm

Andy's hopes for the match, as reported by the Beeb.

So that looks like Murray out in the first round. Shame.Andy seemed really out of sorts. Hope he is OK.

Only saw a bit of last set Andy looked to be lacking energy
I understand first set was an hour!
I don't know is Mark Hilton over in Australia with Andy? I don't know what Jonny O'Mara brings to Andys game apart from being a hitting partner?

I am trying to hold back from commenting as a) I didnt see any of it and b) I don't want to go into the "Andy should retire soon" mode that is my pervading thought right now.

SO I will leave it there and not say anything until I hear more about the match and get Andy's thoughts.

Wow, that's a blow. I'll be interested to see the reports too, and Andy's take on it. Can't be much fun going out in first rounds. As he said, this year might be his last if this carries on.

Hope others can fly the flag for longer.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/67978420 Says it all here, I watched some of the match and Andy was unusually quiet, lacking his usual emotion and fire.
