Oh Jodie Think 45 unforced errors tells the story...

Yes ---- you've got practically a whole set of points in just one set's worth of UEs there

Interesting to see Burrage admit to her lack of Plan B and that she was struggling in the wind. The top players are able to win ugly and I get the sense that Burrage often gets stuck when things aren't going her way. When she has her on days, she can beat a lot of players, but she needs to learn how to scrap. She's still only 24, so surely something a coach can work with her on

Good idea of Jodie to tell all her rivals how to beat her during her post-match presser.

If we could tell, then I'm pretty sure that her opponents had already worked it out.

Not much to work out really is there.  Basically a typical JB performance, great for a bit, poor for another bit and totally lousy for the rest.

Stay with her whilst she's on a hot streak and then basically just keep the ball in play and let Jodie implode with unforced error after unforced error.

The last set was completely pathetic, a complete opposite of the first which was really very good.

Nice to read Jodies post in Insta following her match. Praising the crowd for all of their support pre and post match. Looking to bounce back. Only one or two trolls on the post which is better than normal.

I see they are playing round 1 over 3 days as Emma and Katie are not on tomorrow's OOP

Im not sure anyone would have been aware of quite how damaging her inner monologue is.

Jodie seemed to get more control over it when she started to move up the rankings in the last 18 months. Had a major collapse at the BJK cup and not really had much success since. I'm sure She said she was seeing a sports phycologist at the time. Perhaps time to revisit.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/67978420 Says it all here. He just seemed really flat, no emotion, not his usual self.

Not sure the last match will have done any good for the sports psychologist's reputation - he/she is certainly not going to be putting it up on their testimonial page on their website

Poor Jodie. She is our second best player at the moment. She must be doing something right.

I hope Jodie can draw on the outstanding progress she made in 2023, and really find the belief she should possess - because the talent is unquestionable. I understand how horribly frustrated she is with her tennis, and hope that she isn't catastrophizing too much. There's always going to be ups and downs in a career, one of which many people on this forum thought she would never achieve the top 100 with these difficulties. She's done that, she's beaten big players. She'll do it again.

Crispy, apply for a job as her coach!
