A reminder to myself and anyone else that the ranking points for these new W35s are 1 for qualifying, 4 for a R1 win then 8, 14, 23 and 35.

Katie Dunne has disappeared from the draw and the order of play. I guess Eliz will play a LL.

I think that was due to be match 1 on court 7, so we'll have to wait for the update.

No update yet. They may be waiting until the morning if the next lucky loser is not still on site - or even an alternate tomorrow.

Although the order of lucky losers is known with that draw taking place at the end of qualifying, lucky losers have to sign in 30 minutes before the start of play each day to be eligible to take up any lucky loser places on that day's order of play. In other words the place shall not be filled until after the lucky loser sign in deadline at 9.30am tomorrow.

Ah yes, forgot about the daily sign-in. Most likely to be one of the following:- Caijsa Wilda Hennemann [Q3], Clara Vlasselaer [Q6], Ella McDonald [Q14], Jana Vanik [Q16]

Let's hope the others have all gone home and it's only Ella left :)

Henneman has already lost her doubles - and the other two didn't play doubles....

Eliz was *4-2 30-0 up - and then lost a whole host of points and the set 4-6. Ella taking her chance ?

I've been watching it, as well as Emily App's, on and off

There's been some interminable rallies but Ella obviously decided to accept the challenge - not go for too much too soon. It's a balance, of course, she has to not make UEs, as she was doing, but she doesn't want to completely get sucked into Eliz's game either.

Emily Appleton won 6-4 6-2

Sonay won 6-1 6-3

Ella and Liz are 5-5 in the second set

Always difficult when two GB women play, but Ella, I feel, has more potential and only needs a little kick to get her game in place so I'm glad she won against Eliz, who doesn't really seem to feel the need to do anything except play safe tennis
