Week 2 - Australian Open qualifying - Melbourne (outdoor hard)

Big momentum shift. Billy led 2-1 with a break but is now 2-4*down. Goffin looking much more assured and the edge has gone from Billys game.
In fact now *2-5
Lets hope he can turn the match back around

Hold for Billy but then Goffin serves it out (6-3) so into a decider we go. On current patterns of play, this will be a big result if Billy can win from here but fingers crossed.

QR2:  (q8) David Goffin (BEL) WR 107 defeated Billy Harris WR 200  by 3-6 6-3 6-2

I fear that Ryan & Oliver will both follow Billy out of the exit door...

All over. Sadly not to be as Goffin rolls through the final set 6-2

Billy just could not keep up his early excellent play and Goffin steadied the ship and let all his experience show

Maybe a tad disappointing but Billy should take heart from his performance overall, particularly the first set and build on this going forward.

Onwards and upwards

Thanks for the updates, brittak.

Pity, but onwards indeed. Now a top 200 player and competing in a 3 set match against David Goffin in QR2 of the Aussie Open.

Very respectable from Billy. A great story, and a good confidence builder for the rest of the year.

FQR: Oliver Crawford WR 213 Vs (q24) Vit Kopriva (CZE) WR 132 (CH 111)

Thanks wolf for pointing out the rankings error and SC for the fact that autocorrect corrected incorrectly

Well done Mr New Guy, solid win. Very hard luck to Billy though.

Crawfords next opponent looks tough - strangely for a guy ranked 111 hes a new name to me, so not sure what to expect.

In the main draw

Evo has Sonego and then Alcaraz
Norrie has Varillas of Peru
Jack has Giron and then Paul
Andy has Etcheverry and then Monfils or Hanfmann

All things considered, Cam is decent, Id take Jacks draw if offered, Evo is hard but he can win the opener. Andy is as good as it can get against a seed in the opener

Koprova is ranked 132, 111 is his CH.

Hard to tell with the atp website being a shambles
