Ah well, will have to make do with 20 in the top 500 for now. I am sure Paul will get back there fairly soon if he stays healthy.

And its a solid result against an experienced campaigner - Sousa is probably underra at the moment.

I take your point about Sousa as he has been higher ranked, however he has played very consistently over the last year without any outstanding results and his ranking has dropped accordingly. Clearly he has been higher ranked and has potential to play at a top 100 level, but its quite hard to justify that based on the last years results, and he appears to be quite fairly ranked. That said, it was probably a step to far for Paul early in his comeback (especially at challenger level) and we can probably mark this down as encouraging.

Really good to see from the doubles lads. For me always good to see Marcus out there and winning and for Jay that's now a 4th final in a row and 15th successive doubles win, following his 3 Turkey M25 and M15 titles in November and December.

As Bob said early in the thread, memories of Wimbledon 2017 and the pair's run to R3/L16. Must already be a fair chance of seeing them together again at Wimbledon 2024.

Unless Mr Clarke gets a better offer?
