Nice comeback win for Emma. Delighted to see her back on court looking fit and healthy.
Can't see her getting past Svitolina at this stage but never say never.
Personally I hope she plays the qualies next week as she needs the matches.
I'd rather see her win three matches and qualify as opposed to losing in rd1 to a seeded player for example.
I just think she would gain more that way at this stage of her comeback.

I agree. Number 1 seed in qualies would be ideal at this stage.

No way would she be no 1 seed in Qualies. Her ranking is 299 this week. Her protected ranking only gers her into the tournament.

I'm sure Emma is going to get into the main draw.  She is next  in at the moment and there is a  question mark over Madison Keys playing. Svitolina has lost her last 3 matches against British players after winning the 1st set. They were against Jo(her last  ever singles win) Harriet and Heather.

Svitolina serves like John Isner at 6-5 and into a second set tiebreak we go

Kind of expect Svitolina to run away with the third set but standard of tennis from Emma in first two sets was genuinely really good. Ten fold increase from her first round, so other than the heavily bandaged leg- seems pretty positive to me

Before the match, if you had said it was a 6-3 6-4 loss, it would have been positive, but this sounds like a terrific performance considering. If she stays fit, she's going to compete. Great news, whatever the end result.

Watched some of the first set and Emma was playing at a very high level. Shame She couldn't get a win but this was a hugely encouraging performance. None of the seeds will want to draw her in the AO

Svitolina 52 winners, 26 unforced errors

Raducanu 39 winners, 24 unforced errors

Not too shabby!
