including December 23 (as part of this PoS season) 5 of the 10 PoM votes have ended in a tie!! 50%
Hard to believe really. I am quite happy having ties, but wonder what others think and whether we need to break ties?
I am happy with ties and not having to organise the run-off means one less thing for you to have to do. We do not want to wear you out so you stop doing the competitions.

Thanks mdewey, appreciate the response and the concern. No one else seems worried about ties, so Ill leave it as is!
Of the remaining number one slots up for grabs (with the wheelchair number ones sorted), here are the current positions in relation to qualfying for the player of the season
Mens Singles #1 Jack Draper (feels hard to see anyone usurping Jack who is also already qualified) Womens Singles # 1 Katie Boulter (as per Jack, hard to see anyone usurping Katie, who is already qualified) Mens Doubles # 1 Joe Salisbury (Joe may come under challenge from Henry, possibly others? Joe not yet qualiefied) Womens Doubles # 1 Olivia Nicholls (may come under challenge from Heather but seems likely Liv will top this - not yet qualified) Junior Boys # 1 Charlie Robertson (may come under challenge from Oli B, Charlie isnt yet qualified) Junior Girls # 1 Mika Stojsavljevic (3 way battle, but will Hannah and Mimi play any more matches in junors? Mika and Hannah already qualified, Mimi isnt - maybe she will read this and focus on juniors to the season end!)
Just updating on this - the main open "categories" now appear to be:
Mens doubles - Henry in box seat to take top spot, hard to see how any of Joe, Neal, Julian, Lloyd or Jamie can gather enough points to stop him coming top
Womens doubles - Liv now looking set fair to take top spot. And if she does, she will be the 22nd qualifier for Player of the season
Junior Boys -Charlie and Oli now looking like they are in a ding dong for top spot, possibly the most competitive of the categories - and whoever takes it will get the 23rd slot in PoS
Junior girls - as Mimi seems to be not planning any junior play, this is between Mika and Hannah; and will Hannah play much more or will Mika walk away with it now?

Junior girls- Mimi seems to be easing herself into the senior ITF tour, playing doubles and singles. Shes 17 now so I believe she can play more Senior tournaments. Mika seems ahead of Hannah but Hannah has plateaued a bit like Mimi and will pick up again in a few months. I think Mika will have senior aspirations though. Anyway Mimi is leading the way through and will set the standard/roadmap for the other two.

You can rule Hannah out. Mika will end the year British junior 1. Even if Hannah does play more juniors this year, she will have her work cut out just covering the points she is due to drop, let alone making up the 300+ points to Mika. Before year end Mika is due to drop 118 points replaced by 88 points (nett 30 points drop) Mimi is due to drop 215.5 points replaced by 136.75 points (nett 78.75 points drop) Hannah is due to drop 730.5 points replaced by 266 points (nett 464.5 points drop)

Thank you Lambda: it looks like the juniors boys is the only one really up for grabs, given the mens actual current positions hide the reality of a similar drop for Joe.
2024 Player of Season Qualifiers - I might be taking a flyer here, but am going anoint Jack and Katie as our year end singles number ones. It might be mathematically possible for Cam to usurp Jack, but it won't happen, I am sorry, and I can always change it back! And now Emma is in a bit I cant see how she has enough room to come back and take Katies top spot. Both Jack and Katie are already in PoS contention.
I will leave the doubles anointing to a later date but they both look clear as well, to me. The junior girls also looks clear, but I will wait a little bit for that also; boys doubles is certainly up for grabs! Henry P and Mika S who lead mens doubles and girls respectively are both already in PoS contention as well. Liv or Heather (womens doubles contenders) and Charlie or Oli B (boys contenders) are all not in PoS vote yet and as and when they are decided, we will get 2 new qualifiers to add to the PoS list, which currently sits at 21

There's no way that Heather will make up 675 points and catch Liv - she'd have to win several tournaments to do that over the next 9 weeks - and that's if she plays main tour rather than W100's.

Ok, I thought as much but wasnt quite as confident. In which case Ill anoint Liv later and also declare her our 22nd qualifier for player of the season vote. I suspect Lambda would say ditto re Mika being certain. but will wait!
2024 Player of Season Qualifiers - And I will also anoint Liv as women's doubles #1 based on TA's expert input in the post above!
That also makes Liv the 22nd qualifier for player of the season!
And from Lambda's posts, Mika is 95% nailed on to the girls top player, so I will call that category as well, although Mika is in the PoS proceedings already
Men's doubles and boys still to be decided therefore, although it is really just the boys up for grabs

With 22 players in the field so far, the final PoS field could look like
22 qualified to date
plus 1 more YE ranked # 1 (boys)
Plus Oct. Nov, Dec PoM winners and RU's = 6 more (assuming we dont have any ties that inflate that!)
= 29 players plus 1 wildcard = 30 players maximum field
On the other hand we could have as few as:
22 qualified to date, plus boys number one = 23
No more PoM qualifiers from Oct-Dec as all may have already qualified
Plus 1 wild card
=24 minimum field
So, basically, it looks like we will land on 24 to 30 in the final field. Reality is that we will land somewhere in the middle. The past 3 years, we have had 28 players in total take part each year and it does look like we could land on that again.

With Charlie's points going on today from China Tour Finals, it looks like he is effectively around 600 points ahead of Oli B (as Oli B has points coming off in Merida before season end).
I am not sure of their intentions, but it feels like a long shot now for Oli to catch Charlie.
I wont "anoint" Charlie yet until I hear someone else who is more knowledgeable comment, but it feels like he is pretty likely to end the season as our top junior boy.
2024 Player of Season Qualifiers - from Lambda's posts, Mika is 95% nailed on to the girls top player, so I will call that category as well, (note, Mika is in the PoS proceedings already)
In mens doubles, with points falling off, Joe cant catch Henry mathematically; and Neal could be 100 or so points ahead of Henry if Neal wins the ATP 500 this week and 1000 next week, and Henry fails to pick up 100 or so points in his 500 event, or Paris, or the following 250 and then Turin. So Im calling Henry as year end doubles number one
So, just the boys still to be decided therefore.
