In honour of the player who led to this board and most of us being on here, Ive decided to rename the awards for player of month and season in his name.

Its just a small thing but I think its fitting and hopefully others approve.

Great idea, Jon. Sir Andy has inspired and been a mentor to many of the people featuring in this thread, so only fitting the award bears his name!

I have suggested a few times that I don't plan to continue with this next year. But to be honest, my view on that is often dictated by workload in real life and my view in general on the votes and polls and engagement. Plus no one else came forwards yet!

Anyway, I will continue with this Player of the Month and Player of the Season process into the future - the nominations and voting process works a lot better now than it used to, lots of people seem to engage with it, voting is up, and it takes a lot less of my time as I have refined my own interaction with the process.

So I will plan to continue running PoM/PoS into 2025 and beyond, as long as I keep the desire and interest in myself. Hurrah I hear you say!!

Yes thank you Jon for all the work you put in to these monthly polls. We probably don't need multiple reminders in different sections when there is this much support now.

Really pleased to hear that, Jon. I love these threads and have discovered so many players through them (and found out about their backstories and struggles and successes) in a way that's not possible when they're just names in tournament threads (and when I don't have time to read everything, much as I'd like to.)

Hurrah, indeed! biggrin
