Brilliant win for Katie, real boost to her confidence for 2024.

Absolutely incredible from Katie. Although it makes it even odder to me to then have her play the doubles after such a tough match.

Thats a shame - our set percentage is less than 50 percent so we cant top the group. And with a record of 3-3 in
Match wins, hard to see us being top 2 runners up out of the 6 groups. I guess we arent out of it, but feels hard to see
Us going through now.

Sorry, but that's all great as far as I'm concerned

Means our players have had a practice, had some court time, a bit of team camaraderie, and can now have a rest, not get injured, and concentrate on proper stuff

(I've no idea what this cup is all about)

I think Katie might be losing 80 points from winning the Canberra ITF this week.

Cool - no idea if live tennis is taking that into account, they have her at 46 right now though

Yes I saw. Maybe it's because technically we are still in the week before.

Katie is set to lose 79 points next week which will drop her back out of the top 50.

It's a net loss of 10 points on her current ranking of 56. The live rankings aren't showing the points that are dropping off from the first week of 2023 - Pegula loses 320 points from the United Cup - so are pretty meaningless.

Another great stat for Boulter - Pegula was previously 51-0 in matches in 2023 where she won the first set.

Looks to me from the United cup site schedule that we'd not need to be not one of the top two runners up the best runner up from Perth goes through and stays in Perth for the quarters to play group A winner. No idea what the chances of that are
