L16: Nicolas Barrientos & Rafael Matos (COL/BRA) CR 125 (66+59) vs (2) Lloyd Glasspool & Jean-Julien Rojer (NED) CR 49 (18+31)
I see that Michael Venus will be playing alongside his compatriot, Marcus Daniell, here (with a PR). Anyone know whether he & Jamie M have parted company?
A match with few breakpoints for the first set and a half suddenly produced a cluster late on in the second. Grigor broke twice, Andy rebroke once and had a couple of chances to reach the tiebreak, but Grigor held second time to take the set 7-5
Andy lost the first 4 games of the decider, and though he created a breakpoint in Grigor's final service game the damage had been done, so Andy loses 4-6 7-5 6-2
Im going to go out on a limb and say Grigor Dimitrov will win a Masters 1000 this season and reach the final of a slam. Dont expect he will win a slam but looking at a big performance or two from him. And get back into the top 10.
Maybe the AO and IW, Miami for one of those highlight performances.
Once again a singles player cant be @rsed to complete a doubles event, and yet the authorities never seem to do anything even though it turns events into a farce.
QF: (2) Lloyd Glasspool & Jean-Julien Rojer (NED) CR 49 (18+31) defeated Grigor Dimitrov & Sebastian Korda (BUL/USA) CR 928 (584+344) by walkover

A lot of withdrawals across mens and womens from the doubles today, largely singles players pulling out. I wish there was some approach to stop this happening. Maybe a three strikes and your out process, regardless of reason, stopping singles players entering doubles if they consistently pull out.
