Whilst it is great win it has to be said Mertens was scheduled for 5th on for her singles and 6th on for the doubles which probably did not help optimal play.

Yes that's rough when her singles was three sets. But a win over former Wimbledon champs is not to be sneezed at.

I have a feeling that Heather is getting her motivation by aiming to play at Paris 24, and doubles may well be her route to it rather than singles, and with Neal/Joe, could be a medal contender in mixed

 She'll only be able to play the mixed if she is already in the singles/doubles draw

Heather now doubles live ranked 65. Certainly going back to GB #1 in style.

Really feel if Heather focused a lot on her doubles she could easily take out her career high ranking. I feel she has a lot to offer doubles.
