Remember, if you do vote, please say who and why- not many people do that, I have to say, but I do think it helps attract others to visit the thread and maybe look and vote . I might be wrong !
6 of the 7 overnight votes went to the top 2, 3rd place dropped back. But they are only 5 behind - just impossible to say how many votes more we will get. 45 is usually the peak of where we land, the record is 47/8 and weve half a day left. So who knows. Maybe we will get to 50 by the close. Will 5 more votes over the day allow the third place player to close the gap? Maybe, but theyll probably need to get all the votes!
Fourth place is on 3 now, which equals the lowest final tally. Phew. Although its a lower share of the votes than in any past final!
Im very tempted to put the names of the players up and where they stand, but dont wish to influence those who havent voted yet. It should be a blind vote - Ive been guilty in past player of the month votes of unveiling the players and where they stand and dont plan to do that in the future , just the scores in future, no more names!
Looking at the list of board members, it looks like two other people have joined the board in the past day as well, TennisFollower and CeCe.
I hope both joined to vote here and I hope both keep on being members and post on the board - welcome to you both and also SP1, great to see new people joining.
If you are new and havent kept up with the board structure and format, there are loads of great posters around, loads of results updates and comments on players and events, linked to British players.
The Player of the Season vote is just one series of year end votes, following Player of the Month votes each month end, so keep an eye out for those. And in the predictions section, The Addict runs a great annual rankings predictions contest for British players, it has been going for a few years now and is well contested!
10 hours left, 48 votes still, just the odd vote in it!
Will keep checking for new votes, but if you vote, please let us know and we can be alerted by your post!! It helps draws others to the vote and helps the results progress and the numbers increase!
Joe Salisbury is my vote this year, for achieving success at the highest level.
Thank you - and that was my logic as well. He is the player here who achieved the highest high, maybe the highest high of all our players apart from Neal (Wimbledon) , if we rate doubles ahead of juniors or wheelchair in terms of "highs"!
