2023 PLAYER OF THE SEASON VOTE - FINAL

As well as winning POS in 2020, being in the final in 2021, Joe came 3rd in the semis last year and thus equal 5th. So this is his third final in 4 versions of this POS event and hes never come below 5th place overall. Kudos.

And he was left out of the September Davis Cup team and came back to end the year British number one with his run at the Tour Finals!

By the way, Id encourage anyone else wanting to write narrative to rah rah their favoured player in this - go for it, lets cheer lead as its close and it can make a difference for the undecided !

I noticed that Katie won both her titles with finals wins over Jodie, nice one.

She also reached 3 other finals in the year, Surbiton, Fukuoka, and Gifu (Japan). So reached 5 singles finals, good effort.

Liam also reached the final of the Biel and St Tropez Challengers as well as his Vilnius title, and Surbiton doubles.

But his highlight was obviously beating Casper Ruud at Wimbledon, in reaching the third round there, what an effort that was and a memorable day.

Capped by being nominated for the Davis Cup squad for the Malaga finals, although he didnt play.

Billy may not have won a title but he played a heck of a lot. In March, he reached a challenger final in Les Franqueses Del Valles, then an M25 final in Nottingham in July, lost in the Winnipeg and Cassis QF rounds to Liam both times (Liam has the H2H over Billy!) , into Autumn with QF rounds in Alicante and Malaga, then semis in Hamburg and Ortisei, another QF in Bergamo (lost to Jack D) and his career first ATP 250 win to top it off in Sofia, when he beat the Swiss Huesler in round one.

Billy played over 90 times this season - he needs to hire Lendl as his coach!!

A tremendous second half of the year by Billy but a sign of how tough it is to climb the rankings at that level. He's worked so hard for that rise of 100 places and hopefully can push on in 2024.

Has to be Billy for me.

Just didn't see this year coming and he just kept surprising until ultimately it was no great surprise.

Having had some insight, such as through Bob, as to where he has come from, made it even better to follow.

C'mon folk, it's Year Billy!

Katie B all the way. She was recognised by the WTA as one of the most improved players on the tour. She is fulfilling her potential. Be devastated if she doesn't win.

Still so tight and the lead actually swapped back and forth a few times today.

I was hoping we would reach 30 votes by sometime late this evening, to get to 30 by 5pm is a speedy start and good to see. I hope the votes keep on coming and dont dry up!!

If we do have 15-20 more to come, with the top 3 players 1 vote apart, every one of those 15-20 votes will count - hopefully it will be more than 20 votes still to come!!

I voted Liam earlier before he had any votes. I just feel that top 100 for the first time is a big achievement. Great run at Wimbledon too.
