Fabulous news! And thanks for the commentary, Oscar sounds like it was a lot of fun to watch.

What a tremendous result - to win the Orange Bowl at her age.

And she didn't do the easy way either, having to beat the number one seed, fourth seed and sixth seed along the way.

Many congrats Hannah!

Congratulations to Hannah. only the second Brit to win the U18 Orange Bowl (George Morgan won in 2010) A trophy, bowl of oranges and JWR9 to boot!   Thanks to Oscariyan for providing some colour.

 Great news!!

And a shame George never made much headway in the senior game, hope Hannah can do better.

I assume Hannahs next events will be the Australian events.

I suppose then a mix of seniors and juniors in the run up Wimbledon.

A local paper has picked up the PA News Agency syndicated article, which includes photos of Hannah with bowl of oranges and, further down, the throwing of racket to celebrate

I think Hannah might be the first British player to win an Orange Bowl singles title on clay. Murray (x2), Ren and Morgan (am I missing anyone?) were all on hard court.

Did Andy Murray win the orange bowl? When was that? And who is Ren, not a name I know? Is that a male player or girl? Thanks

Murray won the 12 and 14 Orange Bowl. Jessica Ren was a contemporary of Laura Robson and one of two tennis playing sisters.

Anyway my stat is WRONG (hangs head in shame) - the younger age groups have always been played on clay. Jamie Delgado and Ben Gusic-Wan were other winners.

I dont think its a given that Hannah will go to Australia. although Id imagine shed want to give all the Junior GS a go at some point. Its a long way to go for the tournament, there is only one other Junior tournament in Australia before it a J300. Looks like the Aus Open junior entry deadline is Tuesday so should find out soon.

Think Hannahs birthday is sometime in February, she has played 5 adult tournaments and can play up to 8 before her birthday when this increases to 10. will be interesting to see what tournaments are selected. If she doesnt go to Australia then might play 1 or 2 of the UK ITFs. If not Id imagine April time if there are any and then some grass court ones.
