Do we assume the Lissey and Liv partnership is over? A real shame if so as they were good friends and in the same situation of concentrating entirely on dubs.

Yes, I think that the partnership is over. They have played at the same tournaments recently but with different partners. I suspect that Lissey will play with Sam if Sam decides to play more regularly, but it seems that all options are open for the time being and I just hope it all becomes settled before the grass season when the girls usually do well.

I thought Emily would win that, but was expecting a much, much closer score. A great win.

Might be Rodionova next, but she's having a tough match against Tikhonova at the moment 6-5* with several breaks of serve.

Yes, exactly. I had my tiddly flutter on Emily, Raina is a long way off her best in singles

But thought it would be a lot closer

If you're going to have a good run, a 100K is the time to do it

Rodionova currently with the most wins on the ITF tour this year, apparently, with 78 from 26 tournaments!

A good measure of how hard it is now to break into the top 100 based on ITFs alone - she has won 7 tournaments at 25k and above, and is still 112 in the rankings.

Yes at very nearly 34 she is closing in on the top 100 for the first time. I notice she has almost entirely stopped playing doubles this year so this has been a concerted effort. Still in a battle in her first round match though so might not be who Emily faces.

Tikhonova comes through in a final set tie-break. Multiple match points saved on both sides before the tie-break though.

How good was that !!!!!

Heather was a break down, really battled back in that second set

Was then 1-3 down in the TB

And really hung tough, going for her shots

And got the win 6-2 7-6(4)

Super tennis, Hev

Rather closer than I expected, but a new partnership, so perhaps not quite so surprising.
Didn't manage to watch this time.

L16:- Emily Appleton (GBR) / Alicia Barnett (GBR) CR241 (137+104) [4] v Diletta Cherubini (ITA) / Dimitra Pavlou (GRE) CR828 (390+438) 4-6 7-6(4) 10-8

I watched the tie-break

Emily App won that for them, I'd say

Served well, a couple of very neat volleys, and hit a super, clear-headed winner down the line on return of serve, when it was getting pretty edgy

Would be great if she can bump up into the aus open qualie seeded positions, and she's still very capable of qualifying for the MD.
