Apparently Parmar-Moodie was a big serving contest. Parmar saved 2 match points but could do nothing about the 3rd one.
I'm amazed that Bozo lost today to Morrison, Bozo can serve over 150mph, apparently his temperament is a little suspect though. He's described as being rather volatile.
[2] It has been the general consensus for a long time that Brits have an extra advantage on grass because it's their home surface. This is now a mistaken opinion.
I think this statement shows what a catch 22 the British players are in. They are critised for not practising/playing well on all surfaces (particularly clay) and so over the last 7-8 years, as you say, they have changed that, adapting their games to suit more surfaces. And then the grass court season swings round each year and they are suddenly expected to perform way above their ranking for no other reason than because it's grass and they're British.
Oh well. I hope they all do perform way above their rankings over the rest of the grass court season (and beyond!) but I won't be putting them down if they don't.

I totally agree with that. Generally the Australians (bar Hewitt of course) don`t have a great Australian Open, and this year aside, the French don`t usually have fantastic runs at Roland Garros these days, but there doesn`t seem to be as much fuss made as there is here after each Wimbledon, even though their games are probably much more suited to their Slams.
also from mtf there are reports that b4 philpoo's match he went nuts at an umpire over a bad line call that happened during a girls match! aparently the match was as good as over anyway and the point had no consequence but he was f****ing away. shows his mental state i think.

Have been away from the computer for the past week and so am catching up with the posts I've missed:
The Surbiton tournament office were really great and gave Jamie Baker more chance to get used to matches on grass - he was selected to play an exhibition match on the Sunday against Srichaphan - don't know who won though. Typically the tournament site gave an excellent match report on the exhibiton for Saturday but didn't even give the result on Sunday
