Week 48 - WTA125 - Andorra, Andorra Hard

Yes, the vast bulk of that 12000 is the ongoing Singapore bots. We very rarely even reached 2000, and mostly under 1000, in 24 hours in normal times. And whenever I look at the online list it's loaded with them.

Doubles isn't scheduled to start until Wednesday, so the draw may not be made for a day or two.

Well it looks like only 8 pairs in the draw so it won't take long to complete the competition!!!

And to keep JonH on tenterhooks I can confirm that Maia is in Andorra

I guess the Andorran powers that be are keeping us waiting for the doubles final entry list and draw! Dang those Andorran tennis officials !

Olivia, Alicia and Samantha Murray and all listed for the main draw. Maia Lumsden and Ali Collins are both listed (with different partners) as alternatives. Still no news on whether Heather will be involved but my guess is the draw will be this evening so maybe her singles result could have a bearing on whether she tries for it or not???

Thanks Shhh - Apparently it is 4 direct advance entries (Liv, Lissey and Sam are included in that list), 3 on site singles / doubles ranking entries and a wild card. Presumably Maia and Ali hope to get their alt places turned into firm entries; as you say, Heather is the one we (well some of us!) are waiting on!!

Your wait is over and the doubles draw is out. Heather is playing with Timea Babos and is seeded 2.

Full draw following once I have looked up the rankings. Unfortunately the four pairs with GB players are all in the same section. Ali misses out.

QF:- Maia Lumsden (GBR) / Jessika Ponchet (FRA) CR199 (75+124) v Olivia Nicholls (GBR) / Bibiane Schoofs (NED) CR184 (105+79)

QF:- Alicia Barnett (GBR) / Samantha Murray Sharan (GBR) CR476 (104+372/SR79) v Timea Babos (HUN) / Heather Watson (GBR) CR150 (62+88) [2]

Looks very competitive, and a potential showdown between Maia and Heather in th semifinal - with a guaranteed GB finalist.

So it looks like:

If Maia gets further than Heather she will obviously take top spot

If Heather and Maia play in the semis, and Heather wins, Heather will still need to take the title to take top spot off Maia

If Maia loses her opening match, Heather would need to reach the final to take spot.

Is that correct?

I've checked the possible points against Coric and agree with their predictions.

If Olivia+ beat Maia+ then Heather+ need to reach the final.
If Maia+ beat Olivia+ then Heather+ need to beat Maia+ and go on to win the title.
Any other result will leave Maia as GB #1

ETA - yes, Jonh - I agree with you !

haha. Of course, my horizon is just this week, but I guess both could go on and play another 125 or two later in December, although maybe they have stopped after this week?

I guess what makes these interesting, as well, is they look wide open in terms of who could beat who, nothing at all is certain...

Brilliant from a break down. Did a strong job at *5-5 then ran away with it. Great stuff.
