These are the play-off winners who will be drawn against the teams as posted by wolf above (taken from the official site here). There is some duplication, so one of the lists is wrong
Belgium Brazil Great Britain Japan Mexico Romania Slovakia Ukraine

It must be Slovakia and Romania as they are part of the first 10 team list , presumably that was an error by ITF, taking them out of the initial list would make it 8 teams in both lists?
The FFT announced a couple of weeks ago that the tie will be played at "The Cauldron" in Le Portel on 12/13 April. Unsurprisingly the choice of surface is indoor clay. It has a capacity of 3,400. A rather small venue considering with it not being far from Calais there should be a good British support.

The BJK Cup website doesnt seem to have caught up with that news - and its not as if the website admin is run off their feet with news to update!
Have the French made a strategic mistake? Probably not but by choosing clay it brings Emma into consideration as there is no quick transition of surface, which she said would rule her out, and it's ideal preparation for her for the indoor clay in Stuttgart the following week.

Emma has little experience on the surface and Katie skipped most of the clay court season last year so ought to give France a big advantage. Fitness permitting i'd bring in Fran and/or Sonay into the squad as they're probably our best players on the dirt.
I believe today is deadline day for team nominations (28 days before the first day of the tie). With Jodie out, I think our team selects itself. If it's not Katie , Harriet, Heather and Emma I'll be surprised. That's assuming Emma makes herself available, which according to Russell Fuller at the beginning of the week, she told him that she was 'likely to play' the BJK Cup.
