Basically Annie has picked our three top-ranked singles players and two top-ranked doubles players.
Not sure if Heather will play with Harriet or Olivia though.
Dont take this as the final team though - from the BBC
The team could look quite different come November, as captain Anne Keothavong can make as many as three changes up until a day before GBs first-round match against Germany.
Both form and fitness are unpredictable, and Sonay Kartal is one with a chance of pushing herself into the team.

That is the case but it must be unique for a British player who has won a WTA title not to be included in a FedCup/BJK cup team the following week.
Well, Annie a) can change it and b) possibly wants to see more sustained evidence of form at this level from players outside the 5 chosen before she shakes it up too much.
Not sure if players selected at this stage get some sort of financial commitment to allow them to block the week off?
If you are picking three singles players (for two spots) and a couple of doubles players, think it's a reasonable call at this stage. And Harriet can play good doubles too.
If Sonay was to continue this form, am sure she'll be in the team. But there needs to be some perspective - she only faced one Top 100 player in Tunisia.

When Katie B.won Nottingham in 2023 she did not face one player in top 100 which probably shows our players can win WTA tournaments with no players in the top 100. As an argument against Sonay playing she is yet to appear in a WTA premier tournament.

Yes I know Katie didn't face a Top 100 player but would suggest that she was a different caliber of player at that stage. Anyway this is nothing against Sonay who had had a fantastic summer. There are a number of big events ahead so let's see who is in form by the time November comes around.

If someone (other than Olivia) gets injured i'd expect Sonay to get the nod over Jodie.
BJK Cup Finals reduced to 8 teams next year to align with Davis Cup. To transition from 12 teams to 8 teams, qualifiers in April will be a 3 team round robin in 2025 and reverting back to home and away ties in 2026.

Harriet injured, not sure how serious it is vis-a-vis BJK Cup, but presumably Sonay would be on standby now

If Harriet doesn't make it presumably Heather and Olivia would be the doubles pairing.

Got to think Emma is a serious doubt for this and won't be match fit even if she can play. Harriet possibly injured and Katie B looking a bit tired and off form. A few weeks to go but looking tricky to do much positive. Still there will be a lot of tired players at the end of a long season.
