We are one of 16 nations qualified for the Junior Davis Cup finals (details of the players on all 16 teams are here). The British team of Oliver Bonding, Zechariah Hamrouni and Mark Ceban will have their work cut out to win the tournament for a second time (Kyle Edmund, Evan Hoyt and Luke Bambridge won in 2011). Ben Gusic Wan helped the team to qualify, but it appears that the injury he suffered in Beijing has caused him to be replaced by Mark Ceban.
The draw is not yet up on the ITF site but there should be live streaming tomorrow on Youtube
Whos the highest rated player taking part, David? Ive not heard of many of these apart from Darwin Blanch and our players. Is there someone we should look out for?
Also, who are we drawn with in our group , or is it a knockout event ?
Ah, found the format structure at least but not the draw!
Teams will be split into four groups from where three days of round-robin action will take place, with the top two nations in each group advancing to the knockout stage. The quarter-finals, semis and final will take place from 3-5 November following a scheduled day off.

Federico Cina (Italy) and Darwin Blanch are comfortably the highest ranked (10 & 12)
Still no sign of the full draw on the ITF but team captain Martin Weston has tweeted a photo of the squad and says that we play Germany tomorrow. The Germans have one of the top 2008s, ranked just inside 100, plus a couple of 2007s ranked 100-200. The same team beat us 3-0 in the European Summer Cup finals
According to the ITF live scoreboard, we do indeed play Germany today and the oop is. So, Oli and Zech playing singles for us today

An improvement on the European Summer Cup where we lost 3-0, as Zech and Mark have just won the doubles (despite the commentator calling it as Ben and Zech). However the singles didn't go well, so we lost. No disgrace - Germany are the top seed in the group, which includes Argentina and Peru. Argentina beat Peru in the other group match (currently 2-0 with the doubles on court)
Round Robin 1
Germany 2 GBR 1
Justin Engel beat Zechariah Hamrouni 6-0 6-1
Diego Dedura-Palomero beat Oli Bonding 6-4 6-3
Engel/Schoenhaus lost to Ceban/Hamrouni 4-6 7-5 [7-10]
Looks like we have brought Mark Ceban in to replace Zech in todays match versus Argentina, a must win tie presumably (if we lose and Germany beat Peru, we presumably cant progress?)
Formatting below hasnt worked, but Mark lost the opener 7-6 (1) and won the second 7-6 (11-9) and, after 2 hours 22 of play, is 1-0 down third set

A good day in Cordoba ending with a 2-1 win plus a highly creditable singles debut from Mark. Germany beat Peru 3-0, so victory over Peru tomorrow will probably see us through to the quarter-finals. The top 2 in the group progress to the QF, and if Germany beat Argentina as expected then we would finish second in the group. If we win and Germany lose then it will go down to matches, sets and games, with a 3-0 win against Peru probably vital.
Round Robin 2
GBR 2 Argentina 1
Mark Ceban lost to Valentin Garay 6-7(7) 7-6(9) 1-6
Oliver Bonding beat Romeo Arcuschin 6-3 6-4
Bonding/Hamrouni beat Arcuschin/Garay 6-3 3-6 [10-5]
GB boys won both singles (Mark and Oli) in straight sets.
Will that see them into the last 8, David?
Not on its own (particularly as they lost the doubles to Peru) but Germany beat Argentina as expected, albeit with 3 set singles, and that confirmed our second place in the group. That means a tough quarter-final against Czechia, who won their group without dropping a set. Their number 2 beat Oli recently in Beijing
