Anna Brogan who is a 26 year old Scottish player missed off discussion and entry lists on multiple occasions is into a third set decider.

Had a set point in the first set, lost in a tie break. Then went 5-0 up in the second having 3 set points before getting over the line 6-4.

Will be a tough third set momentum with her opponent.

Stop with your everyone hates and forgets Scottish players its pathetic. our best ever player is a scottish player who the forum is named after.

It was tongue in cheek, a wee joke. I think sometimes people take things a bit too seriously. Im sure a few folk here know that by now. I have never once used the word hate.

Thats a very vaild point twentytoone

It would be valid had they not missed the fact it was a joke. Also highly predictable as I was waiting for the Andy Murray/Elena Baltacha example coming. So its not really

I actually thought that was a nice little ironic nod to "discussions" yesterday in this thread. Good to see Anna winning.

Dont forget she qualified for Player of the Season already this year, through her performances in June, when she did well in the PoM vote, so she has support.

We also have Andy Murray in Player of the season vote and that well known Scotsman, Cam Norrie (wink)is there as well, with Maia almost certain to qualify for it as women's doubles top player

With Naiktha not playing in the Aussie events, and we have run out road on WTA 250 events, is there any realistic chance that Lissey or Liv can catch Maia and stop her being number one come December, or is it still wide open, TA? Wondered what your analysis was?!

Add: I suppose Heather might actually be the biggest challenge to Maia's top spot in 2023, if she does well in 125 Mexico doubles this week and not sure if she is due to play anymore of them?

Too early to call this. If Heather were to win the title in Tampico this week she'd be right on Maia's heels and there are still several weeks to go. There are several decent ITF tournaments to come (RG W100 Dubai on 4th December - 140 points to the winners) so still plenty of time forit all to change. I suspect it will between Maia and Heather though, unless Lissey and Liv get on a roll again quickly.

An excellent job to dig that one out from a break down and under real pressure on serve throughout the third. Been a bit of a difficult period for her but that's a great boost.

Saw most of the Brogan match it was topsy-turvy.  Anna lead in first set then lost tie break. Second set she was leading 5-0 and nearly lost the set. The Dutch girl had the heavier ground strokes and hit loads of winners through the match but was very erratic. Anna came back from 0-3 last set she looked down and out but managed to claw the deficit back broke the Dutch girl to lead 5-4 and served it out. Periods in the match where both went haywire with ground strokes to be honest I was never convinced Anna would win she never seems to come to the net! Next round will be extremely tough if she plays the German girl I cannot see her coping with Jule s pace of the ball

An excellent start for Hannah Klugman, who is up an early break in the first set and overpowering Malygina with relative ease.

Yes, but an AWFUl start from Malygina - a double fault, a basic volley that she mish*t, a standard backhand cross that she put out by miles ..... Hannah barely did anything to get the break - the Estonian board must be tearing their hair out

As I type, Hannah is 4-0 30:00 up with 13 minutes played...going to be a very quick opening set unless Malygina gets her act together.

6-0. Hannah all over the 2nd serve. This could be done quickly if Malaysian doesnt improve.
